We are looking for a Survey Technician to join our Infrastructure & Security team. This position is responsible for assisting the Survey Crew Chief in accomplishing field survey tasks on an array of survey projects ranging from topographic survey to mobile mapping lidar collection for our clients. Work Environment:
This position requires deployments of up to two weeks at a time. With extended time off between deployments you will have over 50 days off per year without using PTO hours!
Responsibilities:
- Aid the Survey Crew Chief in daily survey activities in the field
- Complete the care and daily maintenance of equipment and vehicles
- Operate survey equipment including but not limited to GNSS receivers, Total Station/laser scanners, sonar equipment, etc.
- Ability to employ mobile mapping Lidar unit which will include both drive and handheld operations
- Ability to lift up to 20lbs up to 25% of the time and over 50lbs - 75lbs occasionally.
- Ability to utilize waders and/or occasionally use a kayak for hydraulic survey.
- Ability to be on deployment for up to three weeks at a time.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of survey principles.
- The ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, and Web browser
Experience and Education:
- 0-2 years field experience*
- Basic understanding of survey terminology, methodologies, equipment, and operation preferred
- Familiarity with ArcGIS Suite
- Additional experience and training can be substituted for education
Preferred Experience:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Geography, Survey/Mapping or related Geomatics Science preferred*
- 1-2 years Mobile Mapping/LIDAR or Survey experience
License and/or Certifications:
- U.S. Citizenship required

- Ability to obtain Company internal certifications related to position
