Internal Medicine Residency Director â" Boise VA Medical Center and UW Department of Medicine Joint Recruitment â" The Boise, Idaho VA Medical Center, an affiliated medical center of the University of Washington School of Medicine, and the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington, seeks a Board Certified Internist (or foreign equivalent) to become the Residency Program Director for University of Washington Boise Internal Medicine. The Boise VA medical service staff is a creative and forward thinking group that provides excellent clinical care, inspired teaching, and innovative bench and outcomes research. The ideal candidate is collaborative and academically oriented with a passion for optimal clinical care and teaching. The successful candidate will require a minimum of five years of experience in residency leadership, oversee the internal medicine training programâ"including recruitment, competency assessment, and program assessment, teach medical students and residents, and may provide limited patient care. This candidate will be appointed to the full-time regular faculty at the rank of Assistant (0113), Ass ociate (0112) or full Professor (0111) without tenure due to funding, a 12-month indefinite appointment) commensurate with qualifications. Boise is a family-oriented smaller city in the beautiful Mountain West with an abundance of cultural and year-round outdoor recreational activities. Position will remain open until filled.
Candidates must be citizens of the United States or District of Columbia (permanent residents may be appointed only if it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens), communicate effectively in English, have a M.D. degree (or foreign equivalent), have current full unrestricted licensure to practice medicine in the United States or District of Columbia, have demonstrated at least two years of administrative experience, strong academic credentials, and excellent interpersonal and clinical skills.
