This job is a relief position for a Contract Rural mail carrier, I do give 1099s at tax time. You will be working for the contractor not USPS. I need someone to work Fridays and Saturdays; training you will likely work more days. The more training days worked the faster you would be on your own. You would come in between 6:30-7:00am then work until all work is finished for that day.
You would come in and organize all mail and parcels for that day, load all mail and parcels into vehicle, then deliver mail and parcels in route order. The hours of this job will vary depending on the volume of the mail and your speed. A person who had good self-motivation skills, who is a quick learner, and can follow instructions will be best suited for this job.
Requirements- Must be able to pass a background test, a drug test and provide a good 10-year driving history. These things we will be able to get later.
Must have your own vehicle to deliver the mail in, must have a cell phone.
Be ok working in all weather conditions.
Be able to lift 70lbs.
Pay:
The pay will vary in the beginning for training. The shortest days only 2-4 hours will be $30 each day. Training where I am still doing most of the work will be about $60. Training where you are doing most of the work and I am there just as a help $80 per day. Once you are fully on your own, I will pay $120 a day. Realistically after a bit of training and time this route can be done in about 6 hours.
